Bundall Farmers Markets, your new Sunday favourite

Bundall Farmers Markets are easily one of the Gold Coast’s best places to shop for local produce and seasonal goods.

And as well as that, you’re likely to find a few handcrafted goods like bags to carry your locally-grown fruit and vegetables.

The markets are family-friendly, stock a wide range of different seasonal fruits and vegetables, and almost always have a wide range of food and coffee to enjoy.

When are the Bundall Farmers Markets?

The Bundall Farmers Markets currently operates weekly on Sundays from as early as 6 AM until 11:30 in the morning, and have for as long as most locals will remember.

Their sister market, the Palm Beach Farmers Markets operates on Saturday mornings at the same time.

As many locals will tell you, a market like this is popular, and a lot of the best produce will be gone before you get a chance to take a look! As well as that, if you’re visiting in hotter months of the year, it can be quite hot walking around the area in the later times of the morning.

Your best bet is to show up between 6-9 AM.

If that sounds like a little unfair on a Sunday morning, don’t worry! There are almost always great options for coffee, and even better options for Sunday breakfasts.

Where are the Bundall Farmers Markets?

The Bundall Farmers Markets are located in the heart of Bundall, surrounding the Home of the Arts (HotA). There is plenty of parking nearby, a lot of which is free, but it’s still usually worth trying to beat the crowd.

If you’re visiting the Gold Coast, or are limited to public transportation, you can get there using buses 738 and 747, and the new HOPO Ferry.

If you bring a cooler bag to store your fresh fruit and vegetables in your car, you can take a quick trip through HotA while you’re there– it’s family-friendly and hosts a wide range of great exhibitions!

What to bring - a checklist for your visit

The Bundall Farmers Markets always stock a wide range of both seasonal fruit and vegetables, and artisanal goods like bread, pasta, and olives (the stuff you know you can’t resist). Because of this, it’s always worth bringing a bag or two to stock up! But, as well as this, you could benefit from packing:

  • Sunscreen and a hat (it gets hot, and a portion of the market won’t be undercover)
  • A cooler bag and a freezer brick for fresh, non-ambient goods, like olives, orange juice, or pasta
  • A combination of both your credit card and some cash (most vendors have card options, but there are often surcharges and you can save time by offering cash)

There are ATMs on-site, and toilets as well. If it’s raining, don’t worry! The markets will almost always be operating unless it’s a fairly extreme weather event.

If you’re unsure, you can always call ahead using the number provided.

Unfortunately, the Bundall Farmers Markets aren’t pet-friendly, so you’ll have to leave your furry friends at home for this trip.
